Dinner and a Movie

As many of the my 7 readers know, I have been working as a producer for an independent short. The crew consists of my friends from home that all decided to major in film during the worst economic recession of our generation (not recommended). That said, getting jobs in the industry is hard and we decided to take it into our own hands to produce our own work.

With no capital to begin with, our first major project was fundraising. The reason I have been updating this site is because my time and energy has been focused on the rush of meetings, phone calls and emails that accompanied this task. After all our hard work, it comes down to this.

From our website:

Brotherhood Productions LLC is currently raising money for their first short film production, “Johnny’s Leaving”, written and directed by South Orange filmmaker Kali Baker-Johnson.

We are having a fundraiser event right in the center of South Orange at the highly reputable Gallery 61 in South Orange, NJ. The event will include food, screenings of local talent’s work, and the regional premiere of the short film “The Body,” written, directed and produced by the crew of Brotherhood Productions.

The event will be held April 2nd (Thursday), at 7 pm and tickets must be purchased in advance for $25.00.

All proceeds from this event will fund our next film, “Johnny’s Leaving”. If you do not wish to attend, we greatly appreciate any donations made to the film.

Thank you and we hope to see you there!

I promise, this is not the last you’ll hear of this.
